Per 5 mL Monnax susp Al(OH)3 225 mg, Mg(OH)2 200 mg. Per 5 mL Monnax Plus susp Al(OH)3 225 mg, Mg(OH)2 200 mg, simethicone 25 mg
Indications/Uses
Monnax Symptomatic relief of hyperacidity. Monnax Plus Symptomatic relief of hyperacidity associated w/ peptic ulcer, gastritis, esophagitis & dyspepsia. Antiflatulent to alleviate the symptoms of gassiness including post-op gas pain associated w/ hyperacidity. Adjunct to H2-blockers or PPIs for rapid relief of ulcer symptoms.
Administration
Should be taken with food: Take 20 min-1 hr after meals & at bedtime.
Special Precautions
Do not take >80 mL in a 24-hr period or use the max dosage for >2 wk. Kidney disease. Monnax Plus Constipation. Phosphate depletion syndrome, particularly in patients on a low phosphate diet eg, malnutrition. Advance renal disease. Encephalopathy or worsen dialysis osteomalacia. Avoid prolonged use. Pregnancy.
Adverse Reactions
Drug Interactions
May increase serum levels of quinidine. Al(OH)3: Decreased absorption w/ tetracyclines, digoxin & vit. May prevent proper absorption of H2-antagonists, atenolol, chloroquine, cyclines, diflunisal, digoxin, diphosphonates, ethambutol, fluoroquinolones, Na fluorine, glucocorticoids, indomethacin, INH, kayexalate, ketoconazole, lincosamides, metoprolol, neuroleptics, phenothiazines, penicillamine, propranolol, Fe salts.
